Early Positive Dental Experiences

At Atlantic Dental Centre we aim to help your child feel at ease throughout their dental appointment in order to create positive associations with the dentist and encourage good oral health now and into the future.

We offer a variety of dental services for kids in our Halifax office and work to ease your child's dental experience as much as we can.

We realize that going to the dentist can be an intimidating experience, so we strive to keep the environment calm, friendly and inviting. We will work at your child's pace, take breaks if they get overwhelmed, and explain each step of the process.

Your Child's First Visit

Infants should be seen by a dentist after they reach six months of age or, at the latest, by their first birthday. By this time, your baby's first teeth (also called primary teeth) are starting to erupt. This is a critical time for your dentist to spot issues before they become pressing concerns.

Dental Services for Kids

At Atlantic Dental Centre, our services can be tailored to meet your child's oral health needs, and keep their smile healthy.

Preventive Dental Hygiene

Visiting a dentist for regularly scheduled cleanings and exams while your child is young can help to preserve their primary teeth until they fall out on their own and are replaced by permanent teeth.

At each appointment with our dentists, we will walk through proper oral hygiene practices to help your child get proper at-home hygiene care.

Restorative Dental Services

If your child is at risk of decay, develops a cavity, or is experiencing misalignment issues, your dentist may also recommend restorative treatments such as dental fillings and mouth guards.
